Back it up!

Well, after a couple weeks I'm finally up and running again. Recently the hard drive on my MacBook Pro fried. While my entire music and movie library are on my home network RAID, I had never backed up any of the data on my laptop. This means all was lost - mostly. Thankfully an IT friend has saved some of the data. For Christmas, I received an external drive - to keep myself backed up. Lesson learned.

Web Dev Break

It's been a little while since I've had a chance to do any web design and programming lately. I'm currently working on a certificate and applying for grad school in urban planning. Winter break starts in a few weeks and my applications should be done by then. New web work will follow shortly.

ihatevw.com - Version 2

After a few months mulling it over and one week of actual production, the new ihatevw.com is finally live. This site has been around for four years and has certainly served its purpose well. It however employed one consistent graphical element and adding new submitted stories was laborious.

This new site changes all of that. The whimsical backgrounds rotate randomly on each view. All stories have been merged into a single XHTML file for faster updating. It also employs some new accordion scripting that I found thanks to Nyokiglitter.

Here's hoping everyone enjoys it.

Great New Script

So I've been using the Lightbox and Thickbox scripts for a little while. Each one is great in its own way, but I would always have to decide which of the two to use. This morning I happened upon the marriage of both in a very sleek new script - Shadowbox. This code is great. It functions smoothly and offers the a bit to render all types of files I foresee having to use. Very adaptable and customizable. So if you happen to be a programmer/designer, please check this guy out.

It took a few months and quite a few revisions, but the new version of my portfolio site is finally complete and live. This new version helps to showcase new styles and ideas I've picked up and been using in my projects. I hope you enjoy and feel free to contact me.
